Tourism Superstar takes advantage of the Solent LEP Customer Service Excellence course!

Lorry Middleton was presented with Gold for great customer service at the 2019 Beautiful South Awards which was sponsored by Welcome to Excellence. He went onto achieve national status, when he was awarded Gold in the Tourism Superstar category by VisitEngland and Daily Mirror sponsored Awards for Excellence in April 2020. This was the very first time anyone in the SE region had achieved the double award.
Lorry wanted to gain an official training kitemark to underpin his achievements and contacted Welcome to Excellence about taking the new online Solent LEP Customer Service Excellence programme.
After successfully completing the final course assessment, he was accredited with a nationally recognised Welcome to Excellence certificate. This provides a benchmark for high standards of customer service and is transferable across all service sector organisations.
Lorry Middleton said ‘Although I was voted regional and national Tourism Superstar, I didn’t have a formal qualification in customer service. I wanted to have a tangible certificate in my Portfolio to show I had achieved a national training standard. I am sure this will help in my future career and it has already given me a lot of confidence.’
