Digital or e-Marketing is moving faster than ever and it poses some very real challenges for tourism business.

Successful internet marketing is the key today to helping drive business, increase efficiency and reduce marketing costs.

  • Do you think that your website is working for you?
  • Do you know your twitter from your Trip Advisor?
  • Would you like to understand the elements of design that affect ‘natural’ search engine ranking?
  • Do you understand the importance of ‘keywords’?

Facilitated by a Course Director for the Chartered Institute of Marketing (CIM), the workshops run by Tourism South East will ensure you keep up-to-date with advances and provide practical everyday examples.

Half-day workshops available:

Tourism South East commercial rate £150 per person.

Before you take part in any of the new e-marketing courses, Tourism South East has an online pre-course video for you to watch.  They are all approx 8 minutes in length, and hosted away from the main Tourism South East site.  They are password protected, so only delegates booked onto the courses will be able to access them.  The password to this will be issued approx one week ahead of the course along with your joining instructions.

When clicking on any of the videos this will open up a new window in your browser.  You will be able to click to come back to the Tourism South East webpage though.

Complete an Application Form to book a space or express an interest in the courses.

Top tips for making your digital marketing work:

  • Don’t forget the basics.  Social networking is important, but most of your traffic will still come from the search engines.  Make sure you have got your Search Engine Optimisation right.
  • Make sure you know what is being said about you.  Monitor blogs, Twitter, social networks and other social media sites for your business. Ignoring social media doesn’t make it go away.
  • Don’t ignore accessibility. Not only is it a legal requirement, but it can also help you rank better in the search engines.
  • It’s not all about acquisition.  Are you testing, analysing and improving your web pages to get more from them?
  • Email can still be one of the most effective forms of digital marketing.  It can also be useless if you get it wrong.  Make sure you are getting through the spam filters.
