AGM,Tourism Council and Members' Conference
We welcomed over 80 commercial members and destination partners to our AGM and Members’ Conference on Thursday 20 September 2012.
Delegates heard from guest speakers Kurt Janson, Sharon Orrell and Tom Frame who provided updates and insight into tourism policy, market trends and social media.
Delegates were introduced to three TSE member businesses who provided inspirational stories describing how their businesses have diversified and transformed to succeed in testing and challenging times.
Practical workshops were hosted in the afternoon by TripAdvisor and travel journalist and broadcaster Alison Rice. Delegates also had the opportunity to meet representatives from Barclaycard and Barclays Bank to discuss Government funding.
The event was held at the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel and delegates were warmly welcomed by Barend-Jan Schreuder, General Manager. Peter Colling was delighted to receive certificates presented by the Portsmouth Marriott Hotel representing trees that would be planted at the Huckling Estate, Maidstone as part of the hotel’s green initiative.
