Isle of Wight Steam Railway Awarded HLF Grant

The Heritage Lottery Fund have announced they are awarding a grant of £970,000 to The Isle of Wight Steam Railway for its ‘Changing Trains’ Project. The grant will help protect and secure the future of numerous rare railway vehicles and will make them available to the public to see and enjoy, through the provision of extensive new under-cover accommodation and new interpretative and interactive facilities for visitors.

New Visitor Centre opened at Blenheim Palace

In the largest development for over 200 years at Blenheim Palace, Friday 6th July 2012 marked the formal opening of a stunning new visitor centre at the World Heritage Site in Oxfordshire. The East Courtyard Visitor Centre was officially opened by The Right Honourable David Cameron, MP for Witney, and Prime Minister.

Success for Romsey Tourist Information Centre

Despite the unseasonably British weather, Romsey Tourist Information Centre staff had plenty to smile about in the rain. Celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee, the Tourist Information Centre window display won a “Special Certificate for Best Dressed Window”.
