Working in Partnership
TSE continues to work in partnership with Visit Oxford and Oxfordshire to ensure businesses receive high levels of support and benefits. More information and full details on the benefits available can be found in the brochure.
Oxfordshire Events
Our hugely popular networking events provide excellent opportunities for you to meet other local members, share experiences and develop new strategic relationships. You are encouraged to bring any literature that others can take to share with their own guests and visitors. The events are free for members to attend but prior registration is essential due to high demand for places. (Non-members are welcome to attend at a cost of £5 to cover catering.) Members in Oxfordshire can also attend our networking events held in Buckinghamshire and Berkshire.
The latest event took place on Thursday 2 May when 25 members from Berks, Bucks and Oxon enjoyed a networking event with a difference. It all began at member Adrienne Henry’s Little Hat Shop in Harris Arcade in Reading. Adrienne explained to members that she opened the shop three years ago after being made redundant from teaching. She makes hats and fascinators for ladies and gents going to Ascot, Garden Parties, weddings and many other formal and informal functions. She also made 200 fascinators for Tourism South East for journalists on the Orient Express last year as part of a promotion during the Olympics to promote tourism destinations. Before leaving The Little Hat shop no one could resist trying some hats on.

The group then walked the short distance to Malmaison formerly the Great Western Railway Hotel built 169 years ago to accommodate rail passengers. The General Manager Paul Watson showed members their rooms and how they had converted the former building into a luxurious place to stay. Paul and Adrienne explained how they had been working together since being introduced by BBO Business Executive Jeanette Howse by holding hat making workshops for Hen Parties. The group then enjoyed a buffet courtesy of Malmaison. Other Networking events in BBO are being planned. To register your interest in future events email Jeanette.
We are always looking for interesting venues for these events and members welcome the opportunity to showcase their venue. If you would be interested in hosting a networking event, please email Jeanette.
