Here are a few example of the wide range of projects and campaigns that we are running for in 2011.   Make sure you don’t miss out!

Group Travel

Pubs with great accommodation are at the heart of the Great Country Pubs project.  With many rural pubs closing each week and others struggling to survive, this project provides a platform for pubs looking to break into the tourism market.  The project will help pubs distinguish themselves as a place to stay and identify how improvements can be made to enhance the customer offer. The website is now live, to get involved or register your interest contact Rachel Simpson now.

If your market is families in London, the South East and Midlands, Tourism South East’s 'Family Fun' marketing campaign offers a highly cost effective way of achieving exposure online and in national newspaper promotions backed by extensive PR.  Now in its fifth year, the campaign has gone from strength to strength returning an ROI of 58:1 and a share in visitor spend in excess of £7.8m.

The 2011 campaign was launched on 22 May with a 16 page supplement in the Mail on Sunday. The supplement featured ideas for days out and short breaks across the region and money saving offers including 2for1, kids go free and money off at attractions.  There are still opportunities to be involved in the campaign so contact the marketing team for further details.

We can run any of the Welcome to Excellence courses on your premises - you save money and  the course content can be tailored to meet your needs. You can also take advantage of our SEEDA 2012 funding which is available to subsidise customer care training participation throughout 2011.  We have limited early bird offers available for members and for multiple course bookings.

Contact the training team for availability and further course information.

If you are breaking into the Group Travel market or trying to increase your market share Tourism South East’s Group Travel Programme for 2012 is already gathering pace.  The highlight in the travel trade calendar is the Excursions™ exhibition held at Alexandra Palace.  This exhibition continues to grow and improve year on year and with the visitor economy expecting to experience a boom from the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games there has never been a better time to boost your group bookings.  Regional Group Travel fairs will also be held across the south during Spring 2012 and these are great opportunities to promote your group tours.

Exhibitions are just a fraction of what the Group Travel Team have on offer to help businesses successfully target the Travel Trade with advertising starting from £75.  Contact the Group Travel Team  or find out more about the group travel programme.
